With hundreds of shirts already delivered across the U.S. (and even a few overseas), Keith’s mission has become one of spreading smiles and building community.
And community starts with people. That’s why we want you to meet the team, and their beloved pets, making this all possible. They are the heart behind Keith the Cat and the reason we can continue to grow and reach more families each day.
Liz Sherman
Elizabeth “Liz” Sherman is a 1991 graduate of Texas A&M University and has worked for the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) and the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) for the past 25 years. Liz was hired as an imagery intelligence analyst covering regional and counterterrorism issues mostly in the African and Latin American regions.
She started the Keith the Cat Foundation to help those who are fighting cancer or any illness or battle. Her rescue cat, Keith, helped her get through her own battle with cancer. He was her constant companion who knew when she needed cuddles.
Keith the Cat
Keith has been Liz’s constant companion and inspiration during her struggle with cancer. He knows just what she needs to lift her spirits and make her smile.
Michael Smith
Mr. Michael Smith, from Detroit, is involved in many successful entrepreneurial ventures, including manufacturing golf products in Asia to negotiating collective bargaining agreements for contractors that hire union labor. Michael also managed several political campaigns and worked in the Michigan Senate and U.S. Senate.
Throughout his successful career, Michael was always deeply involved in charitable nonprofits that serve children, the developmentally disabled and the elderly.
Max the Cat
Max is Michael’s personable, friendly, feisty, affectionate cat that loves it when a woman is in our home because he will rub himself against her ankles while totally ignoring any man in the room. He’s quite the Cat-sanova!
While I have a treasure trove of happy memories from all of my life’s experiences, nothing gives me greater joy than looking back on the dogs and cats in my family that I’ve loved and cared for and at the moment, living with my best friend and rescue cat, Max.

Hardy the “Puppy”
Hardy is Savannah’s senior dog who has the heart of a young puppy. He’s been Savannah’s best friend, giving her comfort especially when her husband was deployed overseas for months. Hardy loves to sleep, take walks, and eat his snacks.
I am dedicated to working closely with families and children to provide evidence-based, trauma-informed, and individualized care to best support their needs and goals while navigating challenges, such as anxiety, depression, and trauma.
