Michigan holds a special place in my heart. I was born in western Michigan in a small town called Muskegon. In the summer, the lakes were my playground. In the winter, the towering snow dunes were the backdrop to many snowball fights. We moved to Texas when I was 11, but I still dream of Michigan.
So, when Keith the Cat Foundation learned about the New Day Foundation, a nonprofit in Michigan that provides both financial assistance and emotional support for Michigan families navigating any type of cancer, Keith the Cat pounced at the opportunity for a partnership.
We are so happy to provide families with our Keith the Cat care packages…because no matter if you are in Texas or in Michigan, Keith wants you to know that you are never alone in your battle against cancer.

No family should fight cancer alone or make unthinkable choices between medical treatment and providing basic necessities. New Day Foundation for Families works with hospitals and cancer centers across Michigan to reach patients before they hit critical financial or emotional breaking points.
New Day is the only nonprofit in Michigan providing both financial assistance and emotional support to families navigating any type of cancer, anywhere in the state. New Day pays critical living expenses directly to creditors to cover housing, utilities, transportation, food, insurance and other essential household expenses, while also providing emotional support to patients, caregivers and their family members. The cancer support organization is dedicated to removing the financial obstacles — loss of income and increased expenses — standing between cancer patients and their treatment.
New Day is proud to partner with Keith the Cat to send the furry feline’s merch to kids facing cancer. Keith the Cat Foundation is a nonprofit organization designed to spread comfort and joy to children suffering from cancer. To help a child who is going through treatments like CT scans, radiation and chemotherapy, Keith the Cat sends a shirt, hat, and stuffed animal to remind the child he or she is not alone in their journey. The children can wear the shirts at the hospital to remind them they are loved. The shirt has a big pic of Keith the Cat on it and underneath it says, “You’ve been cat scanned.”
Keith’s merch will be included in New Day Care Packs sent directly to the homes of children facing cancer, along with other items such as knit blankets, coloring books and hygiene kits donated by volunteers. We’re grateful to partner with this special kitty to bring our shared message of hope to kids when they need it most!
